An artist and designer, has joined with a Glasgow charity to offer a product to give a little luxury to people who are homeless.

Jonathan Ward, who has worked in fashion and fragrance in New York and the UK, has created the “give the gift of clean” to help people with one of life’s basic necessities.

Anyone who wants to support the project can donate which will allow a homeless person to be given the gift which includes three 100ml bottles of body wash in a travel bag.

Mr Ward said: “I created the gift of clean with Colin McInnes of homeless project Scotland to allow the public to give a homeless person a better chance at getting their life back on track.

“Instead of moving away from someone because they aren’t able to shower, this program allows homeless people to brighten their day with a little luxury and stops people turning away from them.

“It’s one of the basic human needs and carries often focus on food and shelter forgetting the third issue in this tri- factor of problems.” 

Jonathan was helped by Homeless Project Scotland when he had nowhere to stay and is now in temporary Accommodation in Glasgow.

A donation of £12.50 allows the charity to give out one of the packs.

Mr Ward added: “This simple yet impactful gesture aims to fulfil the basic human need for cleanliness and dignity.
