A celebrity PR guru will join the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Reece Donnelly by supporting a disability charity as an ambassador.

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) has revealed that communications expert Adam Stewart from Cumbernauld is its new ambassador for SBH Scotland.

Adam grew up around the corner from the support centre in Craighalbert Way and was formally introduced to the charity last year.

He said: "I’m delighted to be stepping up as an ambassador for this amazing charity.

"Having grown up in Cumbernauld, I’ve passed by the support centre so many times over the years and always wanted to do something to help."

SBH said Adam has had an illustrious career in the world of entertainment and media where he honed his craft as a celebrity PR guru, "social media whizz" and presenter.

After looking at ways he could use his skills to back the families helped by SBH, he announced his new role at an afternoon tea at the Mar Hall Hotel Golf and Spa Resort.

Close friends of Mr Stewart, Scotland’s Home of the Year presenter Anna Campbell-Jones, Capital FM’s Katy J, and TikToker Rachel Spicer, were among those who attended.

The charity provides lifelong support, care and information to children and families impacted by spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

Lawrence Cowan, chief executive of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Adam as our newest Ambassador.

"With his extensive background in media and entertainment, Adam can bring a new level of visibility to the cause.

"We hope that Adam’s new role will also inspire others to get involved.

“I’d also like to thank Mar Hall for providing the afternoon tea to announce Adam’s ambassadorship, it was a wonderful day of stories being shared, raising awareness and making new friends.”
