Glaswegians can now travel to an exotic location thanks to new connecting flights from several airports.

Air France has said from Monday, November 18, Brits travelling from Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, and London Heathrow will be able to connect to three flights a week from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa.

The new route comes as part of an extension to the airline's flights to Zanzibar - close to Kilimanjaro.

It will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays using an Airbus A350-900.

The Paris – Zanzibar – Kilimanjaro route will replace the Paris – Zanzibar – Dar Es Salam route operated by the travel company until now.

However, they say Dar Es Salam will remain accessible via Amsterdam with KLM operating flights to the Tanzanian capital seven times a week.

As part of the new route, Glaswegians will be able to travel from any of the UK airports to the popular destination.

One of the airport options is Edinburgh, where many Glasgow locals travel to for holidays.
