DRIVERS are being warned of closures set to be in place in and around a Glasgow retail park later this month.
Scottish Water confirmed it is about to begin a ‘key phase of a crucial project’ to support the development of thousands of new homes in Robroyston.
As such the utility company will be upgrading critical infrastructure and installing over a mile of new pipework in the area.
This will be carried out from Monday, July 15 by the company’s commercial subsidiary, Scottish Water Horizons.
During this time the inside lane of the exit to Robroyston Retail Park and one eastbound lane of the B765 will be closed.
This is to allow for a water main to be moved across the road and new pipework to be installed in the grass verge towards Saughs Avenue.
It is expected that around mid-August the road traffic management will be moved further along the eastbound carriageway of the B765 and the single lane closure at the retail park will be removed.
Greg Small, Horizons Project Manager, said: “This project will support the development of over 5000 new properties by installing over a mile of new upgraded water mains.
“We have taken steps to give advance warning to customers visiting the retail park before the traffic restrictions are in place and we will work with all involved to keep disruption to a minimum.
“This is a vital project to support a flourishing Scotland and we are committed to working with stakeholders and customers to deliver it as quickly and safely as possible.”
