The Renfrew Pipe Band Competition is to make its return this month.

The event is to take place from 11.30am to 5pm on Saturday, July 20 at Robertson Park.

The contest will see the location come alive with pipe bands from across Scotland and loads of family activities for all ages.

This year looks set to be another exciting competition with judges from the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association scoring the bands on their performances across the various grades.

There will be performances throughout the day, and the highlight for many visitors will be the massed-bands March Past, where all the competing bands play as one.

Local delights will also be on offer for those looking for a bite to eat at the food village.

The day will also feature face-painting, the chance to enjoy a ride at the funfair and the opportunity learn circus skills at interactive workshops.

Volunteers are needed to help out and those interested in doing so are asked to send an email to Valerija Tkacenko at eventsvolunteers@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
