A Glasgow man who failed to return home from a holiday to Poland has been traced after a week, police have said.

Sam Kennedy was due to fly from Krakow to Glasgow on Thursday, June 27 however his family did not hear from him.

Last week, his sister Robyn issued an urgent appeal for help on social media.

Now, Police Scotland has confirmed that Sam has made contact with his family and is no longer considered to be a missing person.

In a post on Facebook Robyn said: “Sam has contacted us and we know now he is safe and well.

“The police are now happy to close the inquiry. Thank you to everybody who put time and effort into helping us find him.

“We would appreciate some privacy as a family now.”

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth, & Development Office has been contacted for comment.
