TWO men have been charged following an alleged 'disturbance' in Glasgow's West End.

Officers responded to the scene on Great Western Road after the alarm was raised at around 4.45pm on Friday.

Police said the incident allegedly involved a scooter rider and the driver of a car.  

Emergency crews attended and a 30-year-old man, the scooter rider, was checked over at hospital as a precaution. 

Cops confirmed no one else was injured.

The scooter rider was charged in connection with alleged threatening and abusive behaviour.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man, the driver of the car, was charged in connection with alleged assault and a road traffic offence.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.45pm on Friday, July 5, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Great Western Road in Glasgow involving a scooter rider and the driver of a car.

“Officers attended and the rider was checked over at hospital as a precaution. No one else was injured.

“A 30-year-old man, the scooter rider, was charged in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour.

“A 55-year-old man, the car driver, was charged in connection with assault and a road traffic offence.”
