A unique sensory experience celebrating Vincent Van Gogh's dynamic work and life will open in the city this week.
Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience invites art appreciators to Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus (SEC) from Thursday, July 11 to Monday, August 26.
In the lead-up to the public opening, a VIP preview event will occur for invited guests including some of the city's most prominent figures on Wednesday evening.
The Glasgow dates contribute to a brief series of UK shows for the experiential tribute which has astounded more than five million spectators across the United States, Canada, and South America.
The show is currently entertaining crowds in Liverpool having attracted 9,000 viewers over the launch weekend alone.
Anticipation for the Glasgow show is also high with thousands of tickets reportedly purchased.
The initial run at the waterfront SEC has been extended by three weeks due to impressive demand.
The showcase will also make its way to Birmingham’s NEC in August.
The Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience congregates more than 300 of Van Gogh's masterpieces with advanced technology and a specially curated musical soundtrack.
The exhibition narrates the story of the influential post-Impressionist Dutch artist through a vast 40,000 sq ft display area.
Visitors begin their journey through Van Gogh's world in the Introduction Hall where they connect with the artist through his heartfelt letters to Theo, his brother and staunch supporter.
Attendees then transition into the Immersive Room where Van Gogh's creations dominate the space, immersing the audience in the remarkable details of his work.
In addition to holding timed entry tickets, the exhibition also gives visitors the opportunity to participate in exclusive Saturday morning yoga sessions within the exhibition on four dates in July and three dates in August.
VIP Experience tickets offer additional perks, including selected Beyond Van Gogh merchandise, flexible arrival times, and fast track entry.
From intimate written letters to transformative paintings, this innovative tribute will awaken imaginations in a playful manner, while introducing a whole new generation of art enthusiasts and Van Gogh fans to the Dutch artist's dreamlike world.
