PART of a well-known Clydebank sculpture appears to have returned after going missing nearly two years ago.
In August 2022 we reported that the saddle of popular art installation ‘Bankies Bike’ had seemingly disappeared.
A local resident had noticed that the seat was no longer attached to the bike on their daily commute to work.
Now James Stevenson, another eagle-eyed Bankie, snapped photos of the sculpture on Monday which appear to show that the saddle has returned.
‘Bankies Bike’ was commissioned by West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) as part of the ‘Clydebank Rebuilt’ scheme.
It was created by artist John Crosby and is located on the towpath at the Forth and Clyde Canal near Whitecrook Street.
