A popular gaming series will feature new Glasgow trains.

The Cathcart Circle Line will be revamped in Train Sim World 4 with new, free upgrades for existing players.

This comes alongside a new timetable and the release of the modern Class 380 EMU train.

The Class 380 EMU is not unfamiliar to Scottish rails, having made its debut 14 years ago.

However, the train, with its unusual angled corridor connections and pointed headlight clusters at the cab ends, has retained its sleek modern appearance.

Existing players will now be able to operate this train which features an interactive screen and working gangways across new services in an overhauled timetable.

The Cathcart Circle Line route add-on was first introduced in Train Sim World 2.

Players will now experience a complete remastering of this addition, bringing it up to Train Sim World 4's standards.

High-quality lighting and scenery upgrades at important locations such as Glasgow Central and Shields Depot are part of this update.

Players who already own Train Sim World 4 and the Cathcart Circle Line route will benefit from these significant upgrades for free.

A new purchase is necessary only for the additional timetable services and the new Class 380.

The Cathcart update marks the second remaster in the Train Sim World 4 campaign.

The West Somerset Railway previously benefitted from the same improvements, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

Scottish railfans can look forward to other updates, including ScotRail's Class 158, to be released by Skyhook Games.

Additionally, the Fife Circle route add-on, featuring the iconic Forth Bridge, was added to Train Sim World 4 earlier this year.

Train Sim World 4: ScotRail Class 380 EMU add-on and Train Sim World 4: Cathcart Circle Line route add-on are available for purchase.
