Verdict: Five stars.

Liam Gallagher joked he will be ‘sick of the f***ing sight’ of Glasgow soon as he took on headlining duties at TRNSMT music festival on Friday night.

A mere month from when he last wowed the city with two sold-out shows at the Hydro, the Oasis star showed he wanted to continue with the Definitely Maybe nostalgia trip.

The 1994 debut from the legendary Manchester band turns 30, and what better way to celebrate that than to perform it in its entirety to a crowd in the city where Oasis was signed after that King Tut's performance.

The 51-year-old said: “Four times this year.

“I’ll be sick of the f**king sight of you soon, won't I?"

He might have kicked off the year with John Squire at the Barrowlands, but the enthusiasm for Gallagher never wavers in this city and no we aren’t sick of the sight of him.

Opening up his set with Rock ‘n’Roll star before launching into Columbia and Shakemaker, Definitely Maybe proves to be the soundtrack to any music festival especially with Gallagher's swagger when it comes to delivering these songs to a big audience.

A TRNSMT veteran, Gallagher has now headlined the Glasgow Green festival four times and is more than capable of commanding a crowd this big.

But despite his high-energy opening, the TRNSMT fans were initially a bit flat until he performed Half the World Away which resulted in a sing-song and the mood lifting instantly.

Whatever proved to be a highlight with Gallagher’s vocals in top form throughout the orchestra-tinged hit.

Cigarettes and Alcohol then delivered with that infectious riff amping up the atmosphere, it almost makes you take on a rock star demeanour when you hear it, similar to Supersonic which is just magical in this setting.

Finishing on a high with Live Forever and a cover of The Beatles I Am The Walrus, Gallagher proved again to be a worthy headliner as he brought TRNSMT Friday to a close.
