Verdict: Five stars.
The Mary Wallopers certainly proved why they were worthy of graduating from King Tut's to the main stage at TRNSMT today.
The Irish folk band brought laughs, fun and contagious energy to a pretty dreich Saturday afternoon.
Kicking off their set the band shouted to the crowd: "F*** the rich, let's f***ing go, Glasgow."
And before long, they launched into a cover of Glasgow's very own, Matt McGinn.
Playing McGinn's Lots of Little Soldiers, the group declared: "This is an anti-war song and I'd just like to say, free Palestine."
The band also took the opportunity to reveal they have added a third date to their run of shows at The Barrowlands this December, which was announced earlier today.
Lead singer, Charles Hendy, told a sea of attendees - who were deep into their Irish dancing at this point: "You are very good. We love playing in Glasgow, so much so that we're playing three nights at The Barras now - we announced the third today."
Outwith with the jokes, fun and speeches, the band were incredible to watch and listen to as they brought lots of smiling and dancing to the green.
Nearly every single member of the band sang, with all of them playing multiple instruments throughout the set.
Finishing up their set, the band said: "Right Glasgow, see you in December you sexy c****.
Safe to say, The Mary Wallopers were a five-star way to start day two of TRNSMT 2024.
