A "beloved" Salvador Dalí painting has returned to Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum after two successful overseas visits.
We previously reported Christ of St John of The Cross, which is valued at more than £60million, would be loaned to The Dalí Theatre and Museum in Dalí’s home town of Figueres in Spain for five months after being taken off display in August last year.
It was in Figueres, which is close to the coastline that provided the setting for the work painted in 1951, from November until April.

It was then taken to Rome earlier this year to form part of an exhibition at the Church of San Marcello al Corso from May 13 to June 23.
It was organised in the lead-up to the Catholic Church’s Jubilee year in 2025 - and was requested by the Vatican Dicastery for Evangelization, which is overseen by Pope Francis.

Christ of St John of The Cross's trip to Figueres was the first time the masterpiece has returned to Spain since 1952, when it was shown in Madrid and Barcelona, shortly before being acquired for Glasgow and coming to Kelvingrove.
It was purchased by Glasgow Corporation that year for £8200.
The painting is now back on display in Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum.
