Verdict: Four stars.

Chase and Status more than got the crowd going at TRNSMT tonight.

Keeping the main stage warm for headliner Calvin Harris, the English electronic music duo - which consists of Saul Milton and Will Kennard - proved they may be taking the slot soon themselves.

Exploding into their first song, the group let off fire at the front of the stage as their MC said: "Ravers if you're with us, make some noise.

"We aren't messing about today, are you with us, Glasgow?"

And before long, the MC had led the keen Glasgow Green into a chant of 'Here we f***ing go' - turning the excited crowd into one of the loudest and most committed of the festival so far.

Bringing on an array of guest singers like Clementine Douglas and Ethan Holt, revellers grew more and more rowdy as the show went on.

The energy was helped greatly by the MC, especially when he asked the crowd if they were ready to have the best night of their lives before launching into Liquor and Cigarettes.

As they played big hits like Disconnect and Blind Faith, the MC applauded the crowd, saying: "You lot have been amazing. We've had an absolutely amazing time with you, Scotland."

Asking for one last push, the MC said: "I want to see mayhem, I want to see you lose your s***."

It is safe to say that Chase and Status gave a masterclass in working and holding a crowd as they owned the main stage this evening.
