A PAGEANT finalist walked 50 miles in one day to raise money for charity ahead of her competition.

Chloe Jebb is one of 11 finalists in the upcoming Miss Great Britain Glasgow competition which will take place on Saturday, July 20.

This is the second time Chloe has been a finalist after previously taking part in 2022 when she won a place through a competition at her local nail salon.

The 28-year-old said: "That was the first time I had ever done anything like that before and I absolutely loved it.

"I was so nervous but afterwards I was like ‘I really want to do that again’ so I reached out asking for an application for this year and I got a place in the final again.

"When I first did it wasn’t really in my intentions, it just happened, but I feel it was fate in a way."

Chloe, who grew up in Maryhill, found out she was a finalist in this year’s competition in January and since then has been raising money for charity.

She decided to raise vital funds for Social Bite and Beatson because they are all causes close her heart, raising more than £1000 so far.

She also plans to raise money for the Tom Allan Centre after they helped Chloe when she was battling depression and anxiety.

She said: "I chose the Beatson cancer charity because of all the help they’ve given my family over the years.

"My aunties had breast cancer when I was younger, my grandad sadly passed away from cancer a couple of years ago and my gran is currently battling leukaemia.

"They’ve helped my relatives massively and I just want to be able to do my bit to help them too."

She continued: "To be able to get other people to where I’ve gotten to, I’ll always do what I can to raise awareness on mental health.

"I wouldn’t be where I am today is it wasn’t for the Tom Allan Centre."

As part of her efforts, Chloe has volunteered with the Beatson to fundraise, organised raffles and even walked 50 miles in one day at the start of May.

Starting from Uddingston where she now lives, Chloe walked up to the West Highland Way and back over 18 hours, taking more than 100,000 steps.

She said: "It was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done in my life but it was also one of my biggest achievements.

"I walked through Tollcross and the city centre, I walked through the Beatson and then I walked up to Bearsden and up to the West Highland Way and all the way back again to Uddingston.

"In the beginning I was full of energy, I was loving it, but towards the end my knee started to cave in and things.

"I didn’t expect that because I’ve never walked that far before, so I didn’t realise what it was going to do to my body.

"But it was very rewarding."

If Chloe wins Miss Great Britain Glasgow, she will then represent the city at the Miss Great Britain final in October.

The competition involves interviews, photo shoots, an opening number dance, and then three rounds on stage in the evening including a swimwear and evening wear round.

Chloe, who currently works in childcare but is moving into full time content creation, says whether she wins or not she still plans to work closely with all the charities.

She said: "I love everything about going the pageant, the charity work and how empowering it is.

"Although it is a beauty pageant it’s not all about just how people look on the outside, it’s more about your personality and what you can do to make positive changes."

She added: "I would love to go on to represent Glasgow and make positive changes and show people you can anything if you really put your mind to it."
