A CLYDEBANK business is aiming to offer a concert experience at an affordable price.

Transmission Room Studios, a recording and rehearsal facility in the area, has teamed up with the Clyde Venue to host tribute nights with the first one taking place last month.

Transmission Tributes launched back in April.

Diane Jardine, owner of the studio, explained how despite early bumps in the road, she is happy with the progress of the venture so far.

(Image: Colin Mearns) "We actually had to cancel the initial launch night because the band split up which is ironic given they were an Oasis tribute band," she said.

"Last month, though, we were able to get the concept off the ground.

"A band called 'Them and Us' who perform tributes to Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac kicked things off.

"They were excellent and the feedback was positive from those in attendance."

With punters sometimes paying hundreds of pounds for recent gigs at the Hydro, such as to see Stevie Nicks before the concert was postponed, Diane was keen to highlight the importance of putting events on at an affordable price.

"A lot of people were coming up to me and saying we had created really nice environment that was good value for money," she continued.

"That sort of feedback is great to hear. There wasn’t a single negative comment.

"We are still learning about the best way to do things but everything is moving in a positive direction.

"We sold over half of our tickets, which for the first event we were more than happy with.

"The price being £10 helped us generate interest as well given gigs at the Hydro and elsewhere are so expensive these days.

"In some cases, the tribute bands can be better than the original bands."

The next Transmission Tributes night takes place on Friday, August 30 at 7.30pm where 'The All Weller Band' will be putting on a performance in celebration of Paul Weller, The Jam and Style Council.
