A TEENAGER has died after he was hit by a lorry on a motorway early this morning.
At around 3.10am on Saturday, August 3, police received a report of a man seen walking on the M74 between junctions six and seven.
A short time later, a further report was received that he had been struck by a HGV near to junction six for Hamilton on the southbound carriageway.

The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant John Houston said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the 18-year-old man, as well as everyone else affected by this tragic incident.
"We working to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.
"We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man walking on the M74 between junctions six and seven, as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.
"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 0512 of August 3."
The road was closed while investigations were carried out an fully reopened around 1pm.
