A popular Italian restaurant says it will honour outstanding Kooble vouchers at ‘its own expense’ after the booking website fell into administration.
Zambretto Italian, a family-run eatery in Paisley, confirmed it will still accept vouchers purchased from Kooble, formerly known as 5pm, despite reportedly not receiving any payment for them.
It comes after the Glasgow-based hospitality bookings website announced that it had gone into administration recently.
We previously reported that the collapse came a year after the online booking site, which was one of the first in Scotland to sell discount vouchers for restaurants, hotels, and spa treatments, rebranded as Kooble from 5pm.co.uk and relaunched as a platform co-owned by hospitality operators.
A statement published on Zambretto’s Facebook page reads: “We have been informed that 5pm/Kooble has gone into administration.
“Whilst we will not be paid by them for any outstanding vouchers we will honour these at our own expense so if you have any deals purchased through 5pm/Kooble just book with us as normal.”

Customers praised the restaurant for the ‘generous’ gesture in the comments.
One person said: “I don’t have any vouchers but that is a lovely gesture and how good businesses stay open – good customer relations.”
A second person added: “Definitely got yourselves a new customer here with this post. What a gesture.”
A third commented: “What a great gesture from a really lovely restaurant. I don’t personally use vouchers but I’m sure it’ll be appreciated by many.”
Kooble, which was founded by Ronnie Somerville and David Maguire as 5pm.cp.uk around 25 years ago, has appointed Donald McNaught and Graeme Bain of accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael as joint administrators, a statement on the firm’s website shows.
A Kooble spokesperson said: “5 P.M. Ltd is in administration. Donald McNaught and Graeme Bain of Johnston Carmichael have been appointed as joint administrators of 5 P.M. Ltd. to manage its affairs, business and property as its agents, without personal liability.”
