A CITY centre cocktail bar will be transformed into a speciality coffee shop on weekdays.

The Devil of Brooklyn, on Renfield Street, will become The Devil’s Roast from Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm.

It will continue to operate as a cocktail bar in the evenings as normal.

Bosses decided to use the space as a coffee shop during the week to serve high-quality drinks as it ‘sat empty’ throughout the day.

A spokesperson said: "It’s an absolutely stunning venue but it sits empty during the day as the bar doesn’t open until later at night.

"We decided to make use of that space and produce the same quality and level of products the bar produces but as a coffee shop.

"We’re working with local suppliers and serving the best of the best."

The coffee shop had a ‘soft opening’ this week but will officially open its doors on Monday, August 12.

They will be serving cakes and pastries from local suppliers including Wheatberry Bakery, Yolk and Pod, The Rebel Baker and A.Pastry.

The spokesperson added: "The feedback has been really good and people are absolutely loving the coffee."

The Devil of Brooklyn officially opened its doors in December 2022 offering an impressive array of speciality cocktails.

The team told the Glasgow Times ahead of the opening that they wanted the bar to represent "affordable luxury" and bring something fresh to the city centre.

The Devil’s Roast is open 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday at 42 Renfield Street.
