A famous rock star is returning to Glasgow to celebrate his old school.
Fran Healy is leaving his California home to mark his former primary school St.Fillan’s turning 50-years-old this year.
The Travis singer will even be performing at the Doubletree by Hilton as part of their Golden Jubilee party.
The event will include live music, a dinner, and entertainment with tickets still on sale now.
Deputy Head Teacher Mrs Bridie Gibb told the Glasgow Times: “Fran is a past pupil so we reached out and invited him to come along to our celebrations.
“He is a really nice guy and was kind enough to make time for us, even though he is busy launching his album at the same time.
“Fran coming back pulls together the whole sentiment of the school turning 50.
“He started within the first few years of it opening so to still come back after all this time is really lovely.
“We are hoping people come along to see his performance and join our event because it will be a great night.
“We are really blessed that past pupils do return to us and have gone on to be so successful, it is nice to know they still hold us in high esteem.”

Mrs Bridie Gibb originally reached out to Fran on X, formerly known as Twitter, and was thrilled when he quickly responded.
She then decided to invite him to celebrate staff retiring and couldn’t believe it when he not only said yes, but also asked if he could bring his mother.
The 50-year-old rock star now lives in Los Angeles but grew up in Glasgow attending the Cathcart primary school.
We previously reported how Fran spoke about the making of the group’s upcoming 10th album - L.A. Times, and how it was almost inspired by The Glasgow Times.

He said: “It’s all about what you’re going through at the time. The album’s called L.A. Times.
“I always wanted to call an album Final Times because of an old man in Glasgow in 1990 who sold the Evening Times (which is now known as the Glasgow Times) outside of Marks and Spencer on Argyle Street.
“He would go ‘final Times’ – because it was the final edition… I put it on a mixtape for my girlfriend back then because she used to do an impersonation of it and I loved it.
"So I always wanted to call an album Final Times, but it always seemed a bit negative.”
