HUNDREDS of people turned out to take part in an anti-racism rally in George Square.
We previously reported Stand Up to Racism organised a protest called Stop the Far Right to "push back the fascists", taking place on George Square from 11am today (August 10).
It comes after riots took place in several towns and cities in England for more than a week which saw supermarkets and libraries torched and shops looted.

The disorder followed the tragic deaths of Bebe King (six), Elsie Dot Stancombe (seven) and Alice Dasilva Aguiar (nine) who were killed on Monday, July 29 in Southport while attending a Taylor Swift themed dance class.
The first riot was in the Merseyside town on the same day a vigil was held for the girls after misinformation spread online that the suspect was an asylum seeker.
Rumours also circulated online that a far-right hate march was to take place in George Square on Wednesday, August 7 but police confirmed there was "no intelligence" of any such event and it did not take place.

Those taking part in the anti-racism protest today carried signs with statements such as "goodbye hate, sincerely Scotland", "migrants make Glasgow too", and "no room for fascists here".
A small group of counter-protestors from pro-UK campaign group A Force For Good turned up with a sign stating "asylum frauds out".
However, they were met with boos and chants of "refugees are welcome here" and "Nazi scum" and left George Square flanked by a number of police officers.
A number of similar Stop the Far Right protests were been planned for towns and cities across the UK today, including in Dundee and Edinburgh.
