North Lanarkshire is preparing to welcome a Vatican representative.
The Papal Nuncio, His Excellency Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendia, is set to visit the area from August 30 to September 1.
As part of the preparations, Provost Kenneth Duffy and Michael McBride, the education convener, visited Cathedral Primary School in Motherwell to engage with pupils about the significant event.
The school, under the guidance of Father Lamb, has been preparing for the visit.
Provost Duffy said: "It's inspiring to see the enthusiasm and dedication of these young people as they prepare for such a significant visit.
"The school has such a warm and friendly environment, and I'm grateful to all the staff and pupils for extending such a warm welcome when we visited.
"The pupils are wonderful representatives of their community."
Headteacher Graeme Young said: "We were delighted to welcome the Provost and Convener to our school and showcase the learning the pupils have been working on to prepare for Papal Nuncio's visit.
"Our pupils and staff are excited and looking forward to participating in this special event."
The Papal Nuncio's visit will include a Mass of Welcome at Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral and an outdoor Mass at Carfin Grotto.
The community is invited to attend the Carfin Grotto Mass.
His Excellency Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendia serves as the Vatican State's representative and speaks on behalf of the Pope.
