An application for prior notification and prior approval for a new mast close to a primary school has been submitted to Renfrewshire Council.
Leading mobile infrastructure services company Cornerstone has put forward the plans for a 20-metre pole and six antennas on Penilee Road near to Ralston Primary in Paisley.
The site is 20-metres south west of number three, School Road.
The application, which is currently awaiting decision, was validated by the council this month.
A “mobile UK health fact sheet” is included in the planning documents submitted with the application.
It states that: “5G is a generation leap in mobile technology with multiple benefits.
“However, with new technology, it is understandable that people wish to seek reassurance as to its safety and how it works.
“This guide provides an explanation of 5G and the equipment behind it, including the antennae and the masts, to ensure that there is no cause for concern in regard to health.”
