MURDER cops are investigating the death of a young woman in North Glasgow.
Brodie MacGregor was pronounced dead by emergency services after they were called to a flat in Springburn on Monday morning.
Officers arrived at the scene at Elmvale Street at 10.15am. They now believe that witnesses could prove vital in finding out what happened to Brodie.
The force’s Major Investigation Team, called in to probe crimes such as murder, said anyone who was in the area between 4.30am and 10.30am and saw anything should get in touch.
Police Scotland said detectives are treating the death as murder following a post-mortem examination.
Detective Chief Inspector Lynsey Watters of the Major Investigation Team said: “An extensive investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the Elmvale Street area between 4.30am and 10.30am on August 26 who saw anything suspicious to please contact us.
"If you have any CCTV or recording equipment, please review your footage as you may have captured images that could assist our investigation.
“There is an increased police presence in the area as our enquiries continue."

Following the shocking incident, community members were scared.
One person said: “A woman is dead and they are doing some kind of investigation now. Not sure but it is all kicking off.”
A second person said: “I work nearby and the police have been here for so long. Pretty scary seeing all the vans and tape.”
A third person added: “There’s a real worry in the community. Something serious has happened.”
