A man attacked two people and damaged a bus after being asked to leave the vehicle.
David Whyte, 34, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing recently after pleading guilty to three charges including assaulting a man and a woman, and behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
The court heard that Whyte got on a bus on Merkland Street in Partick at around 10.30pm on September 30, 2023, and tried to pay for his fayre using a 20-pence coin and gift cards.
The bus driver refused this method of payment and asked Whyte to leave.

Whyte, from Yoker, began to shout and swear at the driver and was asked to leave again.
At this time Anthony Spence, who had been travelling on the bus, attempted to remove Whyte from the vehicle.
Whyte then pushed Mr Spence before punching him to his right hand.
Morgan Shannon, who was also on the bus, attempted to ask Whyte to stop assaulting Mr Spence.
However, Whyte pushed her before grabbing her by the neck.

He then made off to Dumbarton Road and as he did so he pulled on the bus’s window wipers causing them to bend and be damaged. The value of the window wipers is not known.
Police were contacted and traced Whyte at 11.05pm.
He was cautioned and charged and replied “Aye no wonder, I was in a fight but it doesn’t matter”.
Whyte was taken to Govan police office and released for report.
Sheriff Mark McGuire placed Whyte on a community payback order with social work supervision for 12 months and a conduct requirement to attend alcohol counselling and treatment.
Whyte was also ordered to carry out 162 hours of unpaid work.
