People no longer have to wait so long to have a disabled parking space marked on the ground in Glasgow.
The city council team in charge of the allocation of spaces have managed to cut the wait time by about a year down to only two months.
Disabled badge holders who have a vehicle registered at their address are entitled to apply for a disabled parking bay outside their property.
This week’s environment and liveable neighbourhoods city policy committee heard about the quicker service as councillors were given an update on parking across the city.

A council official said the council team “have managed to reduce the waiting time for disabled people applying for a disabled bay from about 12 months down to two months.”
She added: “That is a real improvement for people who need that facility to get them out and about.”
The change has come about since the council’s parking operations team have taken over the task.
A council report said the team “oversee key functions within parking services which underlie the overall on/off street parking, bus lane and low emission zone operations across the city and provide the basis for enforcement to be effectively and efficiently carried out.”
