A woman has been left 'badly shaken' after she was robbed in broad daylight.
Police say the 68-year-old had been walking in Central Park on Kirkness Street in Airdrie at around 9am on Saturday when she was approached from behind and robbed of her handbag.
It is understood that she was not injured during the incident.
The male suspect was last seen running along Frew Street.
He is described as being 5ft 7ins in height, tall, with short, dark-coloured hair. He was wearing white jogging trousers and a green jacket.

Officers are now appealing for information about the robbery.
Detective Constable Billy Murray said: “Luckily the woman wasn’t injured but she is badly shaken as a result of this robbery.
“I would appeal to anyone in the area who saw anything suspicious or may have seen the suspect running holding the woman’s bag to contact us as soon as possible.”
