A 90-year-old pensioner is planning a zipline to help homeless people in Glasgow.
Gladys Speedie said she has never seen the homeless crisis so bad in the city despite living a “long life”.
Now she has convinced her friends to sponsor her as she takes on a 100 feet zipline over the Clyde this Friday, September 6.
She will give all funds to Glasgow City Mission, a Christian charitable organisation that focuses on helping vulnerable people.
Gladys turned 90 in April this year and she wanted to mark the event by helping others.

Gladys said: “Having lived a long life I don't recall the issue of homelessness like I see it now.
“I only hope I can raise awareness of the need to give help now. Every little would help but more would be better!”
She continued: “If people suffer from depression or addiction they need help.
“People who don't know how to look after themselves need to be given better support than is available now.”
Glasgow City Mission’s Marketing and Fundraising Manager, Jack Geddes, said: “We have incredible supporters of all ages and stages.
“Gladys contacted us last year to arrange to join us for this event and we are looking forward to watching her zip slide along the Glasgow skyline this Friday. Gladys is an inspiration to us all!”
Gladys is collecting money using our traditional sponsor sheets, however, if you would like to support Gladys’s efforts you can donate online at her fundraising page.
