Two men have been arrested after a police officer was knocked down in Hamilton.
The detective was seriously injured on Low Waters Road at around 1pm on Friday and taken to hospital.
He had approached a vehicle with other officers during a general patrol, but when it made off the 33-year-old was involved in a collision.
Two men, aged, 30 and 56, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Two men have been arrested and charged after an on-duty officer was seriously injured in an incident involving a car in Hamilton.
“Officers approached the vehicle on Low Waters Road around 1pm on Friday, August 30 in the course of a general patrol.
“The vehicle then made off and was involved in a collision with one of the officers, a 33-year-old man.
“Two men, aged, 30 and 56, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, September 4 2024.
“The injured officer remains in hospital for treatment.”
