Drivers have been warned as the end date for “emergency” works on a busy road remain “unknown”.
A property has been experiencing internal sewer flooding due to five-metre-deep damage on pipework under the pavement outside.
Now Scottish Water is alerting road users to expect delays through Shawlands in Glasgow.

Traffic Signals are in operation at the junction of Pollokshaws Road and Minard Road.
Drivers should plan journey’s in advance as work begins today and could continue to until early October.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “This is an urgent repair and unfortunately given the location and depth of the damaged section of the sewer some disruption is inevitable.
“We are using specialist, heavy machinery which requires a lane closure to keep our team and road users safe while the work progresses.
“We appreciate there will be delays and we would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding while we carry out this much-needed repair.”
Initial investigations suggest it will take until early October 2024 to complete the repair and reinstate the road and pavement.

A Glasgow City Council spokesperson said: “To allow for Scottish Water works, temporary Traffic Signals are now in operation at the junction of Pollokshaws Road and Minard Road.
“At present a completion date for these works is not known.
“Delays should be expected.”
