A supermarket in Bishopbriggs is to revamp its off-sales area and can now also include alcohol in deliveries to customers.
The Tesco Express in Kirkintilloch Road requested that East Dunbartonshire Licensing Board approve changes to its alcohol license following a remodelling of the store layout.
This particular location has seen high customer demand for red wine and the new layout will accommodate more options in this regard, with more spirits also to be available from the slightly expanded off-sales section.
The health and social care partnership objected to the proposals due to the area being an area of alcohol overprovision, also requesting that deliveries including alcohol be permitted only between 10am and 10pm, and that no orders of only alcohol should be allowed.
The store had requested permission to take orders from 8am to 11pm in line with its trading hours, but the board confirmed this would not be permitted. The application was therefore granted subject to alterations to ensure it was consistent with local licensing policy.
