Glasgow's newest bridge which recently opened is set to be closed for three nights.

The Govan-Partick bridge will be shut for three days to allow testing to take place from today (Monday, September 9).

The footbridge - which links the Southside to the West End across the River Clyde - was formally opened on Friday, September 6.

Following that, it was opened to the public on Saturday, September 7, at 10am.

However, only days after its opening, the local authority has said the £29.5million structure will be shut for several nights.

The closures will be in place to allow final testing of the power supply of the bridge to be conducted.

Due to this, members of the public won't be able to access it from 7pm until 2am on Monday, September 9, Tuesday, September 10, and Wednesday, September 11.
