A man hurled racist abuse at his neighbour after being asked to turn down his music.

Connor Goodall, 29, was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court recently after pleading guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

The court heard that Goodall’s downstairs neighbour at the flat block on Lochdochart Road in the city's East End had been asleep in her bed at around 9.30am on November 28, 2023. Another individual was asleep in the living room at this time.

Both were woken up by banging in the flat above. Goodall’s neighbour went into the living room and noticed the constant banging was in the same area.

She shouted “shut up” to which Goodall replied “come on then” several times.

Goodall then started screaming but his neighbour was unable to recount exactly what he was shouting.

The neighbour went back to bed and Goodall continued banging on the floor for around two hours.

She later saw liquid running down her window from above, which was also seen by the other individual, who contacted police.

The pair weren’t sure what the liquid was or what had caused it.

Outside of the flat block was another neighbour at their car.

Goodall was standing on his balcony and the neighbour who was at her car asked him to turn his music down.

He replied back shouting “you f*****g s**t, your daughter is a s**t, your husband has a small d**k.

"Go back to Romania. Go back to your own country or learn English”.

Goodall then threw eggs from his balcony which landed in the street.

Police were called and responded immediately.

Officers went to Goodall’s property where he was arrested, cautioned, and charged to which he made no reply.

He was taken to London Road police station and later released.

Goodall’s lawyer told the court that his client was unable to return to the address and that he had struggled with independent living.

Sheriff Bernard Ablett placed Goodall on a community payback order with social work supervision for 18 months and a conduct requirement to attend any advised mental health assistance or services.
