A man attacked a police officer before stating “I’ll slash your throat".
Taylor Jones, 25, of Govan, was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to two charges.
He admitted to assaulting a police officer and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner. Both offences were committed whilst Jones was on bail.
The court heard that cops were called to Uist Street by Jones on October 23, 2022, regarding an unrelated matter.
Jones appeared to be intoxicated and irate at the time.
Police carried out checks and arrested Jones who was initially compliant.
He was placed in the seated area of a cell van but had to be removed and put in the rear.

Cops tried to close the door however Jones forced his leg to stop it from shutting.
An officer then took hold of his leg to assist it into the cell area but Jones kicked towards his chest striking him five times.
The officer was not injured.
En route to Motherwell custody suite Jones began to state “I’ll slash your throat, you f*****g fat p**f” and “I’ll s**g the f**k out you and your mum”.
Jones could not be cautioned and charged at the time due to his demeanour.

His lawyer told the court that his client’s life had changed “dramatically” since the offence.
The defence solicitor said: “It was the height of foolishness and immaturity on his part, he knows that.
“He is now working full time and doesn’t drink or take drugs. He has a fantastic new job. He plays recreational football, it is a big part of his life and he is very good at it.”
Addressing Jones, Sheriff Anna Reid stated: “There is a very, very positive report from social work. You’ve had a dramatic turnaround.
“Those days are behind you but it must have been very unpleasant for police on that day.”
Sheriff Reid tagged Jones for nine weeks keeping him indoors from 10pm to 7am.
