A best-selling author is gearing up for the release of her new novel – and she couldn’t be more excited.
The Stars are Dying will be the latest offering from Chloe C. Peñaranda as part of a new series Nytefall.
Loosely inspired by the Greek myth of Astraea - a goddess who symbolised purity, precision, and the Golden Age of man – the book infuses mythology with ancient folklore, star-crossed lovers, and forbidden love to give readers a richly inventive, world-building romantasy.
“The book and series offer a bit of a different take on love interests and a saviour,” Chloe told the Glasgow Times.
The Paisley writer added: “There is a lot of racing against time, the past versus the present and two timelines going on which offers readers two versions of the same love story.”
The book follows Astraea, who can only recall fragmented memories of the past five years. Determined to discover more about her past, she encounters the mysterious Nyte, who makes her an offer she cannot refuse.
As Astraea accepts Nyte's help, she is drawn in by his darkness and she begins to wonder if she has struck a deal with one of the ruthless beings her people have always feared.

The exciting new novel from the promising talent will officially launch on October 8 with an event at Waterstones on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street.
Chloe said: “I’m very excited and nervous for the book launch. This is the first time I’ve done anything like this.
“I’m excited to find out more about the local readership because it is probably louder than I think it is.”
Though this may be Chloe’s first book launch, she is no newcomer to the world of fantasy literature.
An already USA Today bestseller at just 29-years-old, Chloe has had eight books published since and during her TikTok stardom.
Talking about literature and her own writing on the popular app, Chloe quickly gained a strong following and as of today, she has 74.7K Followers and 2.5M likes across her posts and videos.
And according to Chloe, fans have the app to thank for her books becoming so widely known.
“TikTok has been such a driving force on me to get the word of my book out there,” Chloe said.
She added: “TikTok has been an excellent tool.”

The Stars are Dying is Chloe’s first non-independently released novel which has been a refreshing move.
She explained: “It feels like horizons are expanding.
“When you have a publishing team behind you everything feels like the sky can be the limit. I have more people in my corner and less pressure on me.
“I’m used to being independently published and that can be a very lonely road. So, having all these people invested in the success of this series is lovely and I’m really excited.”
