A homebuilder has invited Lanarkshire groups and causes to apply for a share of its £10,000 community fund.

The initiative by Miller Homes offers a share of the fund to those in need, particularly near its Constarry Gardens, Highstonehall Park, Jackton Gardens and Stoneyetts Village developments.

Since its launch in September 2022, the initiative has made a significant impact on communities around Miller Homes' developments.

So far, 2,128 groups and charities have applied, and 324 have been awarded grants, totalling £231,000.

Applications for the next round are now open.

Andrew McArthur, regional operations director for Miller Homes Scotland West, said: “The Community Fund is a fantastic way to support the residents of Lanarkshire and other areas where we are building.

“We encourage projects in the early stages of fundraising or those needing a boost to continue their efforts to apply.

"We receive a wide range of applications each year, supporting everything from local sports teams and musical groups to community gardening initiatives and foodbanks.”

During the application process, groups will need to outline how they plan to use the funding, whether it's to support education, wellbeing, sports participation, or environmental improvements.

Applications for the community fund will close on October 28, with a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2,000 awarded.

Successful applicants will be notified in November, and payments awarded in December.
