Residents in Baillieston will get a final chance to have their say on plans for a community hub with sports facilities and a library tomorrow (Saturday).
Over £15m of funding for a hub in James Lindsay Memorial Park was approved by councillors in February last year. Money was secured from developers building homes in the area.
It is believed new facilities, which would be managed by the council’s culture and leisure arm Glasgow Life, are needed to support the area’s growing population.

Work is scheduled to start on the development in 2025, with the centre set to open in 2027.
Designs have been on display at Baillieston library over the past week and Glasgow Life will host a final engagement session on Saturday (September 21) between 10am and 5pm.
Staff will be on hand to answer questions about the project and what the hub will offer. A planning application is expected to be submitted at the end of this month.
Cllr Alex Kerr, SNP, who represents the Baillieston ward, said he was “extremely grateful” to community representatives who have “kept the need for a facility in Baillieston at the forefront of the agenda”.
“Thanks to their efforts and the dedicated work of council and Glasgow Life officers we have these plans to show to the community who will benefit from the amazing facility.”
He urged residents to take their opportunity to attend the final public engagement session on Saturday.
Cllr Kerr added: “Crucially, this comes with a timeline aiming to get the project into planning within a month and for work to begin in 2025.
“Having spoken to countless residents this project has long been promised and some have felt they may never see it delivered.”
The hub, which was first proposed more than a decade ago, will be funded through financial contributions provided as part of the Baillieston Broomhouse Carmyle Community Growth Area. Housebuilders signed up to legal agreements linked to planning applications within the area boundary.
It is expected to have a gym, library and community rooms. A self-catering kitchen for community organisations and events is also planned.
Glasgow Life has said the proposed hub is “one of the largest projects to impact the east of the city in recent years and highlights the city’s commitment to the health and well-being of its citizens”.
It added the aim is to “create a focal point where people can meet, participate, learn and relax within an enhanced parkland setting”.
