A MAN has been arrested after reportedly being caught with a machete in his waistband.
Police received reports of a disturbance and a man with a weapon on Main Street, Renton, at 5.50pm on Saturday, September 21.
When officers attended the force says they observed a male with a 'facial injury' and in possession of a weapon they believed to be a machete.
The man was detained and a machete was allegedly recovered before he was taken to Clydebank Police Office to be charged.
He has since been identified as a 61-year-old from Renton.
A police spokesperson said: "On the evening of Saturday, September 21, 2024, police received a call about an ongoing disturbance on Main Street, Renton. On arrival, officers observed a male in possession of a weapon.
"This male was quickly detained, searched and a weapon recovered. The male was arrested and taken into custody where he was subsequently charged in relation to a number of offences."
