A Glasgow man has gone viral after pranking his gran.

Coplyn Gray was left in stitches after playing a practical joke on his Govan grandmother Janette this week.

The 28-year-old went on FaceTime with the 75-year-old and after chatting “hung up” the phone - then began gossiping about her.

What she didn’t know was he only pretended that he didn’t realise the call was still going and filmed her reaction to his cheeky comments.

On the call he can be heard saying: “That’s me away I will see you later on bye.

“She is a f****** isn’t she? F****** does my nut in.Just talking a lot of s*** all the time about Sky and all that.

“Old wit she is.

“It is not just that, she didn’t pay for [the food] the other night. I will remember that next time.

Janette was left speechless and gasping before frantically trying to end the call saying “Alec come here and hear this wee p**** talking about me, wait until I see him.”

She then shouted “COPLYN, COPLYN.I can still hear you. You have not put me off.

“I offered to pay the other night!”

Coplyn then picked the Facetime back up and acted like he had no idea she had heard, forcing her to confront him.

It was then he burst into laughter and let her know it was just a joke and he had been recording her the full time.

Now the pair are “howling” laughing about the exchange and how it has gathered thousands of likes and comments on social media.

Speaking to the Glasgow Times Coplyn said: “My gran’s from Govan and we always play jokes on each other.

“It wasn’t really planned, it was off the cuff as most of them are.

“Her favourite takeaway restaurant is Amore, in Renfrew.

“Every couple weeks I’ll surprise her and bring her down her favourite dish, Pollo al Pepe.

“She always tries her hardest to give me money for it and hates that I pay for it all the time.

“That’s why she reacted so concerned when I said, ‘She never even offered to pay for the Amore the other night’.

"It’s all in good fun, she’s howling about it now!"
