A man has been arrested following a 'spate of car break-ins' across Renfrewshire.
On Friday, September 20, at around 3.10am, cops were called to an alleged break-in at a motor on Quarrelton Road in Johnstone.
Following that, a 46-year-old man was subsequently traced in the area.
Police say the man has since been arrested and charged in connection with 18 alleged thefts and vandalisms to cars in Linwood and Johnstone between Wednesday, September 4 and Friday, September 20.
According to the force, many of the incidents involved taxis.
He appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, September 23.
Inspector Lorna McLaren said: "We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Renfrewshire.
"This arrest is a result of the efforts of local officers and members of the community being vigilant.
“We would remind residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.
"Please also ensure any cash or valuable items are removed from your car when parked and park in well lit areas where possible.”
