Five care workers have been cleared of neglecting patients at a home.

Amelia Green, 59, Lesley-Ann Gray, 60, Nigora Hamatova, 40, Catherine Haughey, 61, and Lynne O'Neill, 41, were alleged to have committed the crimes at Campsie Neurological Centre in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire.

Haughey, of Kilsyth, Lanarkshire, faced a separate allegation while in charge of an Edward McBride who is now deceased.

It is claimed she pushed him and his wheelchair into a wall and a door.

Green, of Kilsyth, meantime was accused of damaging a Neil Henderson's clothing including in his presence.

Green, Hamatova, O'Neill, of Glasgow's Carntyne, and Gray, of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, faced a collective charge of removing Mr Henderson's clothing and shower him against his will.

The allegations spanned a period between January 2018 and April 2020.

Each charge stated the women were "care workers" who "ill-treated or wilfully neglected" the men.

All five denied the charges at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Grey and O'Neill had their charges dropped by the Crown during the trial.

Green, Hamatova and Haughey were found not guilty today by Sheriff Michael Hanlon to their charges.

The sheriff stated that some of the evidence from Crown witnesses came off the back of a "schism" that developed between employees at the carehome.
