PEOPLE were evacuated from their homes last night after a report of a chemical smell.
Emergency services were called to a block of flats in Leven Street, next to Kenmure Street, in Pollokshields at around 9pm last night after the smell was reported.
A number of surrounding properties were evacuated as a precaution.

The building was confirmed to be safe a short time later and residents were allowed back into their homes.
Kenmure Street was closed to traffic between Leven Street and Melville Street during the incident.
Level Street and Melville Street were also closed on approaches to Melville Street.
They reopened at around 10.25pm.
