Verdict: Five stars
You don't just listen to Cannibal Corpse, you feel them.
The American death metal giants played last night at the Barrowlands for their sold out show on their European tour.
Known for their deliberately provocative style and attitude, their violent song names get the crowd's attention but this is not what makes them stay.
As soon as their dirty yet hypnotic riffs kick in, the vibrations shake fans so hard it feels like CPR in our chests forcing us to come alive.

Hearts may be racing but they are no match for Pat O'Brien’s speed on lead guitar, or Paul Mazurkiewicz on drums, as they launch the show with Blood Blind.
Frontman George Fisher, known as Corpsegrinder, riles up the crowd with his animalistic vocals sending fans feral as he reaches to the bottom of his soul to rip out the lyrics.
He could easily be mistaken for a terrifying demonic monster, nothing like the sweet Disney loving family man he displays on his social media off the clock.
But maybe it is no mistake at all, it feels like he abandons George in the stage wings and emerges fully transformed into Corpsegrinder - a raging, hardcore, metal music machine.
He is wearing a t-shirt with his own face on it that reads “respect the neck” - celebrating his famously massive scruff which is his not so secret weapon in putting all other headbangers to shame.
His neck is so big and iconic that it has almost become the band’s sixth member.

Fisher joined the Cannibal Corpse in 1995 and never looked back after replacing Chris Barnes on vocals - a move that has paid off for the group ever since.
They charge through their 16 track set with stand out songs being Scourge of Iron, Inhumane Harvest, Kill or Become and others with titles I simply can’t publish in a family newspaper.
If the sea of crowd surfers isn't enough validation that the band is dominating the show, then a fan slingshotting their bra at Corpsegrinder should let them know they are killing it.
I only heard of two complaints from fans at the gig. One being the man next to me who was devastated after spilling his full pint on my leg, and another who said 'I can’t believe someone punched me in the b**** for crowd surfing, this is Cannibal Corpse not Lady Gaga' - he has a point.

Corpsegrinder announces the show is coming to an end which is met with roaring boos which leaves him looking satisfied.
Speaking to the crowd he says: “I want you to know, as soon as I say that and everyone boo’s - there is so much joy that fills my heart.
“You don’t know what I am going to say, what if I said ‘unfortunately we are going to play 10 more songs?’ [which is met by a massive cheer]
“Yeah now everyone is happy, Corpse is not the bad guy anymore.
"Lets try this again, unfortunately this IS our last song. [more boo’s]
“Let me get this straight, you don't want this to be the last song? You want more than this final song? [huge cheers]
"Alright after careful consideration of your cries and pleas, I have decided out of the kindness of my heart that, THIS IS STILL THIS LAST SONG!
“It has to end sometime you have to know that, before we go we want to send this final song out to all of you for coming out and supporting f***** metal.
“There is only one more question to ask you, are you ready?!”

The emotional rollercoaster leaves fans hyped and ready to face the end with Hammer Smashed Face - which see’s pints and bodies fly across the room for the final pit.
It doesn't matter if you are a death metal fan or not, Cannibal Corpse always seems to pull a reaction out of people.
Whether it is disgust, excitement, horror, or pleasure, the group just can't help but make you feel something.
