The National Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbride is offering family fun this autumn.

Supported by the People's Postcode Lottery, Autumn Explorers will run from October 15 to 18.

Visitors can expect autumnal storytelling, biodiversity activities, and Lewis's Scottish Adventure Trail.

Allison Galbraith will share the tale of a friendly spider and a naughty fly.

Hands-on activities include creating your own spider from recyclable materials and getting involved in the soil exploration station.

Vicky McLean, general manager of the National Museum of Rural Life, said: "We are delighted to offer a range of fun family activities this half term.

"We hope our young visitors will enjoy getting their wellies on and learning more about autumn on the farm while experiencing the beautiful countryside surrounding the National Museum of Rural Life."

The Tractor Tots, sensory singalong sessions for under-fives, will continue throughout October.

Lewis's Scottish Adventure Trail will also return, exploring the museum galleries to engage visitors in learning about Scottish traditions, available in both English and Gaelic.

The museum is open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.

Tickets can be booked online at nms.ac.uk/rural-life.

There is a 15 per cent family discount when up to three child tickets and two adult, over 65 or concession tickets are purchased together.

National Museums Scotland and National Trust for Scotland members can visit for free.
