Being a journalist is a very rewarding job but - like many others - it involves long stressful hours sitting in front of a computer.
For years, I have been listening to my colleagues going to spas to care for their wellbeing and when I was invited to the Remedy Room, I decided it was time for my first professional massage.
Phillipa Winkle welcomed me to her Knightswood studio to try her £35 back, neck and shoulder treatment, which she said was "perfect for those who are hunched over desks for long hours".
She told me she used to work a full-time corporate job until she realised how anxious the work made her and re-trained.
The 36-year-old explained: "I knew in my heart that this is what I wanted to do.
"First, I went in a completely different way in life but I had to make that journey.
"I had to be a career-driven woman in that world, travelling all the time.
"And I had to go through that toxic environment.
"I was a mess but I learned from it and now I think I can really help other people."
When I stepped into the room, I instantly felt a very calming and peaceful energy, created by soft lighting, warm colours and quiet music.
The studio, near Garscadden train station, is inspired by the country of Morrocco, which Phillipa visited last winter.
She explained: "I was in Marrakech in January and I went to Jardin Majorelle, a botanic garden.
"I just felt the peace and the calm come over me and I realised I am where I want to be in my career and I knew it was coming. That is where the inspiration for this room came from.
"I want people to step in and have that relieved feeling, like when you step off a plane into the sunshine.
"We make life very complicated but it doesn't have to be."
I was a bit nervous at the appointment but she quickly made me feel great.
The table was comfortable -and even had a little space for my arms so they didn't hang awkwardly.
I even got to choose the scent of the massage oil I preferred.
During the 40-minute session, I was transported into a relaxing world. The massage felt nice and really helped me feel rejuvenated. My body felt fresh and energetic afterwards.
It helped me feel less stressed and definitely took some weight off my shoulders - literally.
The massage proved a powerful tool to reduce my stress levels and help my posture.
