A MAN will stand trial accused of trying to run on the pitch during a Celtic and Rangers game.
Jarlath Connelly, 44, allegedly committed the offence at Celtic Park on May 11 2024.
The Hoops hosted their Glasgow rivals in a match Brendan Rodgers' side won 2-1.
Court papers state Connelly conducted himself in a disorderly manner and attempted to enter the field of play.
It is claimed that Connelly left the seated part of the stadium, opened an emergency gate and entered the trackside area.
The charge goes on to say that Connelly committed a breach of the peace.
Connelly faces a separate charge of assaulting steward John Walsh by kicking an emergency gate at him which struck his leg to his injury.
Connelly pleaded not guilty to both charges today at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Barry Divers set a trial for next month for Connelly, of County Armagh.
