A primary school teacher in Alexandria has retired after working in the area for over two decades.
Pupils and staff gathered to bid a fond farewell to Kathleen Burns at Christie Park Primary School.
She dedicated more than 20 years to the education facility and was a much-loved and well-respected member of staff.
Her enthusiasm for science and technology was legendary and many children participated in her after school ‘Young Engineers’ and ‘K’Nex’ clubs.
Throughout the pandemic, children and their families thoroughly enjoyed Mrs Burns’ creative online science lessons and there was always a great deal of fun and laughter.
Kathleen is looking forward to travelling more often with family and friends and enjoying her Jive dancing classes.
