Scots across the country are being invited to join an annual rally in Glasgow this Saturday.

The Love Rally, now in its seventh year, takes place every October and marks the end of Care Experienced Week.

This national occasion celebrates the Care Experienced community.

The rally, expected to attract hundreds of participants, will start at Carrick Street at 1pm.

The march will proceed along the Clyde, up High Street, and conclude in George Square.

There will be speeches and stalls in the square before the rally finishes at 3pm.

The march is open to everyone who wishes to show their support for Care Experienced people – those who are currently, or have ever been, in care, such as kinship care, secure care, foster care, children’s homes, looked after at home with social work supervision, and adoption.

"Everyone is welcome to come and join us."

The Love Rally was initiated in 2018 by the Scottish charity Who Cares? Scotland, after many of its members shared that they didn't feel loved while growing up in care.

Mr Anderson said: "We’re marching because all children should grow up to feel loved and should they have to live away from their parents, they should grow up to experience connection and belonging in the most positive of ways."

"That is why every year, we march through Glasgow demanding a lifetime of love for all Care Experienced people.

"If you would like to come and show support for the Care Experienced people in your community, please come along and join our march."
