An industrial unit in Cumbernauld could be converted into a football coaching facility if North Lanarkshire Council approves the proposal.
The local authority has received a planning application requesting the change of use of a unit in Carbrain Industrial Estate from a workshop to a establish a dedicated coaching service which would work with local schools and football teams.
Supporting information from the applicant explains that they would be able to move in immediately and the new facility would complement the tae kwon do club and gym already operating in the estate, as well as promoting the wellbeing, fitness and mental health of local children.

The applicant also states that coaching sessions would predominantly be held on weekday evenings so they do not foresee any significant effect on traffic in the industrial estate.
