A MAN has been taken to hospital following a report of a 'shooting'. 

Cops were called to Drumoyne Road in Govan at around 4pm yesterday (October 25) following a report of a "firearm being discharged" within a premises. 

A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Pictures from the scene show a section of the road taped off with an officer pictured standing outside a pharmacy and convenience store. 

A section of Langlands Road is also taped off as of this morning near Govan Health Centre.

Armed officers were initially called to the scene but were stood down yesterday evening. 

It is believed this was a targeted attack and there is not any wider risk to the public. 

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and extra patrols are being carried out in the area.

Chief Inspector Jordan Dickson said: "We believe this was a targeted incident and there is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.

"Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries, including door-to-door and CCTV work. Extra patrols are also being carried out.

Bosses at 1925 Barbershop lets customers known on the 'acumfaegovan' Facebook page that they will be closed today while the investigation continues and said they may not be able to get back into the shop until the start of next week.
